This time we're going to start off with a famous technique that will make you sound pretty fast once you have mastered it! These are split triplets, and are used almost exclusively in soloing.
To start this technique off, check out the video below, then perform the following (the triplets will be shown in red font):

Open E-String for an eighth bar, then three slapped muted open E-String, popped G-String at 7th Fret, dampen E-String with fret hand then slapped muted open E-String. Popped G-String at 6th fret, dampen E-String with fret hand then slapped muted open E-String. Popped G-String at 7th Fret, dampen E-String with fret hand then slapped muted open E-String. Then two slapped muted open E-String notes.
This forms the basis of the split triplet phrase. the technique is repeated somewhat throughout the rest of the phrase as played in the above video.
An example of this technique can be found on Mark King's "Influences" solo album, toward the end of the first track called "The Essential". When performed correctly, is creates the illusion of great speed, and is an excellent technique to combine with others for added spice!
